This plain-language beta notice explains the information Orbit needs to make an event work, how it is protected, and when it is removed.
What Orbit holds
Organizers provide account information and event details. Guests can provide a display name, RSVP, and photos or short videos for the event they joined. Orbit also uses limited session and abuse signals to keep private links and uploads working safely.
Why we use it
Orbit uses this information only to authenticate organizers, show the private event to invited people, coordinate RSVPs, process contributed media, enforce plan limits, and operate the beta.
Private access
Orbit has no public event directory. Event details are available through the private invitation, while organizer controls require an authenticated account. Private media is served through short-lived, scoped access links.
Photos and videos
Uploads are processed into retained copies, and temporary originals are discarded after processing on the free plan. Orbit removes GPS and unnecessary image metadata during processing where supported.
Event artwork
If an organizer leaves the cover blank, Orbit may send a bounded event title and description to the configured OpenAI image service to create artwork. Orbit does not include the event address, guest list, invitation or session secrets, or organizer account details in that request.
Retention
On the free plan, guests can upload for seven days after the event ends and processed memories remain available for 30 days after the event. An eligible future upgrade may extend those windows for that event.
Your choices
Guests can choose not to join or upload. Organizers can remove guest entries and contributed media from events they manage. Formal access and deletion channels will be published before the beta expands beyond invited testers.
